You are applying for the Full Time Certified Medication Tech/Aid position on Weekend Double with 1-3 Years Experience.

The medication aide position is to administer oral and topical medications to residents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Administer medication as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any federal and state regulations consistent with facility policy.
2.Must demonstrate knowledge of "five rights" of medication administration.
3.May take and record vital sigNs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications.
4.Records administration of medications and/or treatments approriately.
5.Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
6.Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and in consistence with facility policy.
7.Must be able to push/pull medication cart for extended periods.
8.Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
9.Documents reason for and response to PRN medications in a timely manner.
10.May dispense narcotics and must account for them under the supervision of a licensed nurse per facility policy.

-QUALIFICATIONS:
-STATE CERTIFICATION AS A NURSING ASSISTANT
-STATE APPROVED MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION CERTIFICATION
-COMPLETE FAMILIARITY WITH DUTIES OF A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
-HIGHLY DEVELOPED OBSERVATION SKILLS
-EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS NEEDED
-VISION MUST BE ADEQUATE TO READ MEDICATION LABELS
